Acupuncture is an ancient art and science. However, it may be new to you! Acupuncture is actually under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM includes acupuncture, massage, herbal therapy, nutritional therapy, electro-stimulation therapy, cupping, moxibustion, and gua sha, to name a few.
Xiole Mitchell has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 10 years. She works with each patient as a unique individual and formulates a treatment plan and strategies that are personally tailored. She uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, therapeutic massage, cupping, electro-stimulation therapy, gua sha and moxibustion to help you achieve your health goals.
Xiole has had great success helping people to find relief from acute and chronic pain. She has extensive experience helping patients with sciatica, arthritis, frozen shoulder, headaches, neck pain, vertigo, aphasia, head injury, nausea, gynecology, fertility, menopause, insomnia, neurological conditions, mental health, addictions, digestive disorders and many more.
After completing a four year education and clinical training program, Xiole graduated with a Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma in 2008. She is a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (CTCMA).
I direct bill for most extended health plans, Including:
Pacific Blue Cross
Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance
Johnston Group Inc.
Sun Life Financial
I direct bill for:
Canadian Armed Forces
Royal Canadian Mounted Police
I direct bill ICBC on your behalf and advocate for more treatments when you need them.
As of April, 2019- ICBC covers 12 Acupuncture treatments, without a Doctor's referall, within the first 3 months of an accident.
If your claim is over 3 months old I can still advocate on your behalf, and work with you and your doctor to get you the care you need.
I direct bill MSP:
If you are on MSP premium assistance, MSP will cover $23 per session, for 10 sessions per year, between all complementary healthcare providers. This includes Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Massage and Physiotherapy.
Acupuncture Works Sooke's policy is to not charge folks on premium assistance more than MSP covers for your treatments.
If you don't find yourself in the above categories and cost is a barrier to receiving treatments, a sliding scale for payment is available. The scale is $25-$75, based on income.
Please inquire if you have any questions or if you want to check your eligibility for any of these programs. Thank you.
